Plaza Nueva

Many of Seville’s most central and famous streets begin in Plaza Nueva, such as Avenida de la Constitución, where the Cathedral and the Archivo de Indias are located; Calle Tetuán, a pedestrian street full of shops; Calle Sierpes; and Calle Zaragoza, which leads us to the city’s most typical neighbourhood, Triana, across the Guadalquivir River.

Plaza Nueva also houses luxury shops such as Loewe or Carolina Herrera. It is also home to the San Onofre chapel, the only chapel in the city open 24 hours a day. Events such as the book fair, craft markets, concerts and various activities of cultural interest are held in the square.

The tram also departs from here, making stops at the old Tobacco Factory, now the University, and the Palace of San Telmo.

Explore Seville

Hotel Inglaterra, a privileged hotel in the centre of Seville, is just 250 metres from the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of La Giralda, the Archivo de Indias and Los Reales Alcázares. The neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz, Arenal, Museo, Alfalfa, Alameda and Prado are also very close, as well as the Alcázar, Murillo and María Luisa Gardens, beautiful squares such as Plaza España, Plaza San Francisco, and those of Museo and Duque, and palaces such as San Telmo and Casa Pilatos.

We are located near Isla Mágica, the Plaza de Toros, the Maestranza Theatre and many other important destinations. In addition, a large array of shops, bars, cafés, restaurants, museums and monuments are all within easy reach of the hotel.

Arts & Culture

If there is one thing that makes Seville stand out, it is its wide range of cultural activities, of which the Maestranza Theatre is the most important: opera, concerts, recitals, flamenco, ballet… Other attractions include the Isla Mágica Theme Park, museums such as the Fine Arts Museum and the European Film Festival.

Flamenco is everywhere in Seville and can be enjoyed in all its splendour every day in the famous flamenco clubs, in the local “peñas” or simply in its streets and bars.

Popular festivals

We have many unique festivals: the world-renowned April Fair, Holy Week (the most passionate in the country), the National Bullfight in the Plaza de la Maestranza or the Velá de Santa Ana, in the beautiful neighbourhood of Triana.

Gastronomy and sport

Seville also offers a wide range of gastronomy and leisure activities both day and night. You can have tapas, enjoy its terraces with a drink or go out to the bars and clubs in the area. If you are passionate about sport, you can stay in shape almost all year round thanks to the city’s excellent weather: rowing, canoeing, horse riding, football, basketball… Here everything is at your fingertips.

Shopping in Seville

Its rich shopping and commercial tradition is another of the city’s most representative aspects. Seville is famous for its ceramic and pottery handicraft industry, which you can buy in the Triana neighbourhood or in La Cartuja. Articles such as shawls, mantillas, embroidery, lace, fans, musical instruments, saddlery, flamenco dresses and accessories are some of the most significant examples of Sevillian craftsmanship.

It's not all walking

If you get tired of walking, there are a range of different ways to get to know the city from another perspective: from renting a bicycle – the city has many well-kept bike paths – to a romantic boat ride on the Guadalquivir, to a horse-drawn carriage, train, tram, metro, bus, car or taxi.
